The Port Royal Sound Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit started in 2011 to educate about and conserve and protect the Port Royal Sound. Our featured project over the past two years has been to raise awareness and funding for our Maritime Center which opens November 1, 2014, at the former Lemon Island Marina. It will be a state-of-the-art interactive Center where guests can learn about the Port Royal Sound and why it is such a treasure and must be protected and also learn about the historical, cultural, and economic aspects of Beaufort County and our area. Special exhibits will also be showcased in the Center.
Now our focus is on raising funds for the annual operation of the Center.
